Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Meat Sauce

Cook the ground beef and diced onion in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is fully browned.

Drain excess grease and stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning.

Step 2: Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.

Mix until smooth.

Step 3: Layer the Lasagna

Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Break several lasagna noodles to fit and place them over the sauce.

Spread some cheese mixture over the noodles.

Repeat the layers until all ingredients have been used, finishing with sauce and the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Step 4: Slow Cook

Cover and cook on LOW for approximately 4 hours.

The noodles absorb moisture from the sauce and become perfectly tender while the cheeses melt together.

Avoid lifting the lid frequently.

Step 5: Rest Before Serving

Turn off the slow cooker and allow the lasagna to rest for about 20 minutes.

This resting period helps the layers firm up and makes serving easier.
