Peach Crisp

Servings: 8
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Bake Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced peaches
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking dish.

Combine sliced peaches with sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Stir gently until all of the fruit is evenly coated. Transfer the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.

In a separate bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add cold butter and work it into the dry ingredients until a coarse crumb mixture forms.

Sprinkle the topping evenly over the peaches. Bake for approximately forty minutes or until the topping becomes deeply golden and the peach filling bubbles around the edges.

Allow the crisp to cool for fifteen to twenty minutes before serving. This resting period helps the filling thicken and makes serving easier.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or enjoy it on its own as a comforting and delicious summer dessert.
