Peach Cobbler Recipe

Servings: 8
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Bake Time: 40–45 minutes
Total Time: About 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 5 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Add the melted butter to a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly across the bottom.

In a bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until the peaches are evenly coated.

In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk and stir until a smooth batter forms.

Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Again, do not mix. As the cobbler bakes, the batter will rise around the peaches and create a golden crust.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling.

Let the cobbler cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. It tastes wonderful on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
