Servings: 4 people
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 18 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm peaches, halved and pitted
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt for serving (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the peaches thoroughly under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut each peach in half and carefully remove the pits. Choose peaches that are ripe but still firm so they hold their shape during grilling.
- Preheat the grill to medium heat. Brush the cut sides of the peaches lightly with melted butter or olive oil. This helps prevent sticking and enhances the natural sweetness of the fruit.
- Place the peach halves on the grill with the cut side facing down. Grill them for about 3–4 minutes without moving them. This allows the peaches to develop beautiful grill marks and a lightly caramelized surface.
- Turn the peaches over and cook for another 3–4 minutes until they become warm, tender, and slightly softened. The heat brings out the natural sugars in the peaches, making them sweeter and more flavorful.
- Remove the peaches from the grill and transfer them to serving plates. Drizzle them with honey and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. If desired, serve the grilled peaches with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a spoonful of Greek yogurt and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
Tip: Grilled peaches make an excellent summer dessert. They can also be served with mascarpone cheese, granola, or chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.
