Chill Time: 2 hours
Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 prepared chocolate cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups chocolate pudding
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanut butter cups
  • Chocolate syrup for garnish

Instructions

Begin by preparing the chocolate cake according to package instructions or use a homemade cake that has completely cooled. Cut the cake into bite-sized cubes and set them aside.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue mixing until fully incorporated. Fold in one cup of whipped topping to create a light and fluffy peanut butter filling.

Select a large trifle dish or glass bowl. Start by placing a layer of chocolate cake cubes on the bottom. Spoon a layer of chocolate pudding over the cake, spreading it evenly so every piece is coated.

Next, add a generous layer of the peanut butter mixture. Sprinkle some mini chocolate chips and chopped peanut butter cups over the filling.

Repeat the layers until all ingredients have been used, finishing with whipped topping on top. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the dessert and decorate with additional chocolate chips and peanut butter cups.

Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least two hours. Chilling allows the cake to absorb moisture from the pudding and creates an incredibly rich and creamy texture.

Serve chilled and enjoy a dessert that is perfect for Father’s Day celebrations.
