Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Cooked spaghetti for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts into the bottom of the slow cooker.
Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the chicken.
Step 2: Slow Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for approximately 5 hours.
During cooking, the chicken slowly absorbs the flavors of the tomato sauce and becomes extremely tender.
Avoid opening the lid frequently because slow cookers rely on trapped heat and moisture.
Step 3: Add the Cheese
Once the chicken is fully cooked, sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
Cover again and cook for another 15 minutes until the cheese melts completely.
The melted cheese forms a rich and creamy topping that pairs perfectly with the tomato sauce.
Step 4: Serve
Cook the spaghetti according to package directions.
Serve each chicken breast over pasta and spoon plenty of marinara sauce over the top.
Garnish with fresh basil and additional Parmesan cheese.
